Another great question! A simple answer would be at least once per month. That being said, everyone had specific needs and situations and that frequency may change from client to client. Massage is a great way to prevent injury and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Fascia is densely packed collagen fibers that wrap, divide and surround every one of your muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels and organs. You are protected, connected and shaped by fascia. Fascia is our richest sensory organ, it contracts and responds to stress involuntarily. If your fascia is stressed in one area of your body, another seemingly unrelated area of your body can be feeling that stress. Lack of activity will cement those fibers into place. Chronic stress causes the fibers to thicken in an attempt to protect the underlying tissues and organs. Poor posture, lack of flexibility and repetitive movements all affect your fascia. Fortunately, fascia has self-healing properties. When it is healthy, it is smooth and supple and slides easily, allowing you to move and stretch to your full length in any direction.
Please bring active wear for your stretch session. You need to be able to move! You will be lying on a massage table and placed in various stretches. For the comfort and safety of both client and therapist, we request that you bring appropriate attire.
